City Channel Production Specialist
The City Channel Production Specialist is responsible for providing timely and accurate public information relative to city governmental functions and all Common Council meetings through the use of television broadcast and video streaming services. The incumbent is also critical to supporting virtual meeting environments for city departments by providing technical assistance and training.
Public Health Strategist
With the goal of increasing access to and consumption of healthy food among the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) target audience, the Public Health Strategist works closely with the Milwaukee Food Council’s (MFC’s) Healthy Food Access Coordinator in order to support community-based organizations’ ability to navigate related local government systems and resources. The Public Health Strategist supports nutrition education programming, community gardens and urban agriculture; healthy food retail support in existing and new businesses; City policy, zoning, and practice; Healthy Food financing initiatives; creation of a community commercial kitchen; and resident leadership and engagement.

The Electrical Inspector conducts electrical systems inspections in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings to ensure compliance with applicable codes.
Engineering Drafting Technician I & II
Under the direction of the Management Civil Engineer Senior, the Engineering Drafting Technician performs computer-aided drafting of construction plans related to roadway paving, sewer construction, street lighting, traffic signals, underground conduit systems, and water systems.
Engineering Drafting Technician II & IV
The Engineering Drafting Technician II is responsible for performing map changes, updates and maintenance of the MWW mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS), as well as administrative duties related to water main plan preparation, information requests, permit processing and the contracting process. The Engineering Drafting Technician IV is responsible for preparing and updating plans and system maps for the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) distribution systems, water treatment plants, pumping stations, booster stations, pressure reducing facilities and water storage systems.
Engineering Intern
Assist engineers, architects, engineering technicians, public works inspectors and bridges and buildings inspectors with various engineering and construction inspection tasks.
Engineering Technician I & II
Engineering Technicians perform functions in one or more of the following areas: construction, transportation, environmental, traffic and water engineering.
Engineering Technician II & IV
Conduct water main replacement, water distribution system repair and lead service line replacement inspections to ensure compliance with and enforcement of Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) specifications.
Environmental Health Coordinator
As part of the MHD’s environmental health management team, the Environmental Health Coordinator (EHC) provides day-to-day oversite to assure that work performed by inspectors and administrative staff meets departmental, state and national standards.
Equipment Mechanic III
The Equipment Mechanic III is responsible for repairing and maintaining a large fleet of outdoor power equipment used by the DPW-Operations-Forestry Section in landscape and tree maintenance operations.
Human Resources Representative/ Human Resources Analyst-Senior
Under the direction of the Staffing Services Manager, the Human Resources Representative/Analyst-Sr. provides recruitment and staffing services to fill positions at all levels in City Departments.
HVAC Maintenance Technician
The HVAC Maintenance Technician repairs, replaces, adjusts and maintains all equipment related to facilities for the City of Milwaukee.
Microbiologist
Using biochemical, immunological, and molecular methods, the Microbiologist performs moderate to high complexity testing of clinical and environmental specimens for the detection of microorganisms for the Milwaukee Health Department’s (MHD) laboratories, clinics, and programs. This position may require working with highly pathogenic microorganisms in Bio-safety level 2 and 3 (BSL-2/3) laboratory, following state and federal guidelines.
Nurse Practitioner
Working with patients in the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program (SRH) and the Milwaukee Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness Program (MBCCAP), the Nurse Practitioner creates health plans; performs screenings, testing and follow-up care; and provides clinical practice direction to Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) clinical staff.
Office Assistant IV-MPL
The Office Assistant IV has primary responsibility for coordinating and scheduling meetings, serving external and internal customers, and providing clerical support and assistance to the Library Administrative Team.
Plan Examiner III
The Plan Examiner III serves as a lead worker and project manager for complex developments by performing case management and by facilitating approvals from other departments, approvals of alternate construction, and variance requests. The Plan Examiner III also serves as a mentor and trainer.
Property Appraiser 3
Under the direction of the Assessment Division Manager, the Property Appraiser 3 inspects residential properties for sale, permit and valuation review and assists in the valuation of Personal Property.

Under the direction of the Assessment Division Manager, the Senior Property Appraiser I inspects all classes of properties for sale, permit and valuation review.
Vehicle Services Technician
Vehicle Services Technicians inspect, maintain, and repair operating systems for a variety of automobiles, light trucks, vans, heavy trucks and equipment, and other miscellaneous City-owned equipment.
Water Quality Manager
The Water Quality Manager is responsible for monitoring the Milwaukee Water Works’ (MWW) water treatment process and water laboratory results to ensure production of the highest quality of water that meets or exceeds all state, federal and local guidelines, rules and regulations.
